E. leptophyllum (Bieb.) Andrz. in DC, Prodr. 1: 198 (1824). Syn: Cheir-anthus leptophyllus Bieb., Fl. Taur.-Cauc. 2: 119 (1808).
Perennial herb. Leaves few, linear, canescent with an indumentum of bifid hairs. Flowers unknown. Siliquae erect-spreading, thin, subcompressed, canes-cent with stellate hairs. Style about as long as the siliqua is wide.
Type: [Caucasia] in collibus siccis Iberiae, Steven.
Scattered; accurate distribution unknown. A5 Amasya: Amasya, Ak Da., 1900-2100 m, Bornm. 1926! A9 Kars: Kağizman, Mikhailovski. B6 Sivas: Sivas to Tokat, 1800 m, Bornm. 1923. Caucasia. Doubtfully distinct from E. pusillum, from which it differs in having stellate hairs on the siliquae. A specimen from prov. Kayseri, Sopan Da., 1720-1750 m {Hub.-Mor. 11008), closely approaches this species, but differs in its broader (narrowly oblanceolate) leaves, and sepals persisting in fruit. It may represent a new species, but more material is necessary before its status can be determined.
