E. leucanthemum (Steph.) Fedtsch. in Acta Hort. Petrop. 23: 413 (1904). Syn: Cheiranthus leucanthemum Steph. in Willd., Sp. PI. 3: 521 (1800); E. versicolor (Bieb.) Boiss., Fl. Or. 1: 197 (1867).
Perennial herb. Stems erect, up to 60 cm, with a sparse indumentum of mainly bifid hairs. Lower leaves weakly dentate, with an indumentum of 2-3-fıd hairs. Petals pale yellow to almost cream, 8-11 mm. Siliquae adpressed to the flowering axis, tetragonal, with an indumentum of stellate hairs. Style up to 1 mm. Stigma capitate. Fl. 6. Slopes, up to 1700 m.

Erzincan: Egin (Kemaliye), Kosa, Sint. 1890: 2527! Caucasia, N. Iran, Turkestan, S. Russia, Siberia, Afghanistan. A species in which the density of the indumentum and the flower colour are particularly vari-able. Further collections from Turkey are desirable to ascertain its distribution,and the nature of the variation. E. artwinense Busch, Fl. Cauc. Crit. 3(4): 457 (1905), is probably conspecific.
